Daily pricing: Rs5.16 cut on Oct 20
Petrol was cut by Rs5.16 to Rs381.14 per litre, effective 20 October 2026, as prices continue to be revised daily. A 20-litre bike fill now costs Rs7,622.80 (20 × Rs381.14). Diesel fell Rs7.69 to Rs389.27 and is not part of the relief scheme.

What the Rs100/litre relief is worth at Rs381.14
The PM Fuel Relief Scheme still pays Rs100 off every litre — so registered beneficiaries effectively pay Rs281.14 per litre:
- Bikes (20L monthly cap): Rs7,622.80 at the pump → Rs2,000 back → Rs5,622.80 effective.
- 800cc cars (30L monthly cap): Rs11,434.20 at the pump → Rs3,000 back → Rs8,434.20 effective.
- Against the previous price, the Rs5.16 cut saves Rs103.20 on a 20-litre fill (20 × Rs5.16).

Austerity returns alongside the price cut
The government reintroduced austerity measures on Oct 8 (Dawn): markets must close by 9pm, and official-vehicle fuel allocations are cut 50% for three months. The backdrop: daily prices are set from a 7-day rolling average of international prices, and OGRA can now announce revisions without prior PM approval.
Scheme at a glance
- 8.4M+ registrations; 10.3M of 12.2M tokens redeemed across 129 districts (Oct-4 briefing figures, latest available).
- Petroleum Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik says more than 9 million people are benefiting, and Rs400–500B has been set aside to keep the scheme running up to ten months if prices stay high — his stated preparedness, not money spent.
